The KitchenAid Professional 600 Stand Mixer with BowlLift Feature is a legendary kitchen appliance. The KitchenAid stand mixer appears to be the mixer of choice to any number of chefs and cooking personalities (Alton Brown, Claire Saffitz, Anna Olsen...the list goes on), and is frequently featured on cooking shows and competitions. Though not actually admitted by many, the KitchenAid Stand Mixer has sort of become a status symbol in the culinary world. If a home cook has one of these mixers, that is a "serious" home cook. But with so many other (cheaper) options, is this the stand mixer for you?

With three attachments (paddle, whisk, and dough hook), the KitchenAid Stand mixer is meant to make difficult/ repetitive kitchen tasks that much easier. If you do any of those activities on a frequent or even, semifrequent basis, you might want to seriously consider getting one of these. Even Christina Tosi, swears that the constant mixing achieved by these stand mixers is one of the reasons her chocolate chip cookies are so successful.
