Do I need to season a new lodge cast iron skillet? Folks, we got a brand new lodge 12inch castiron skillet, and I'm wondering? Do I need to season this?

Well, the label here says that it's a seasoned cast iron skillet, but as you can tell, it's not completely seasoned like a wellseasoned skillet should be. Yes, it's preseasoned, so let's go ahead and get this thing washed and cleaned up, and I'll show you what I do to one of these.

The manufacturer suggests what to do and what not to do. So when I looked at the lodge cast iron seasoning instructions, I realized we had options to season or not to season.
