DIY Imitation Crystals (for Miniature Gaming)

Follow
The Gaming Tome

How to turn cheap hot glue sticks into glistening model crystals. In this video, I make a large batch of these crystals and use them to build crystal patch scatter terrain for use in miniature wargaming and tabletop roleplaying games.

This is a handy method of simulating transparent or translucent crystals (especially the technique for increasing clarity). It would be easier to just buy them premade from resin or plastic, but sometimes you only need a couple or you want a certain shape. In those cases, with a little time and mere pocket change, you can facet yourself some beautiful fake gems.
