2. Chop the apple into quarters, remove the core and seeds. Grate the apple and discard the skins or leave the skins on and chop into very tiny pieces. (You can blend it in a food processor if you have one)
3. Fold the apple into the oats.
4. Finely chop the walnuts and fold into mixture.
5. Fold in the egg (or skip this step)
6. Line a baking tray and divide the mixture into similar sized balls, space evenly on the tray and flatten the top of each with the back of a spoon.
7. Bake in the oven at 180C for approx 30 minutes, or until the edges turn brown and start to crisp.
8. Leave the treats to cool before feeding.
9. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, or up to 3 months in the freezer.

Treats should be fed sparingly as party of a healthy, balanced and speciesappropriate diet. Recommend limit of no more than one Apple and Walnut Bite per day

Suitable for elderly hamsters and those who require softer foods due to dental problems.

Be cautious when feeding to hamsters prone to diabetes, apples are a healthy snack but too much at once may cause a blood sugar spike. To avoid unwanted health problems fruit snacks should be offered infrequently and only in very small amounts.

Also suitable for mice, rats, dogs, and some other omnivorous pets.

Not suitable for strict herbivores or strict carnivores.
