The carding cloth we used is 90 tpi for the licker and 120 tpi for the large drum such ratios depend on the fiber you plan to work with. To calculate how much carding cloth you'll need, calculate or measure the circumference of the licker + the large drum. To pull the carded fiber off your drum, you'll also need a doffer. I made ours by simply bending an allen wrench (heated with a torch) and then grinding down the head into a dull point.
