I’m just after some advice I posted yesterday about little worms coming out of my oscar and that got narrowed down to undigested blood worms but I’m noticing some discomfort in my fish today head shakes scraping against decor things like that.. my parameters are fine was the first thing I checked I’m just wondering if there’s anything out there that would flush any internal parasites out? This is happening in more then one fish that’s my concern.

Maybe check him for ich that will be tiny white spots. Also as prevention use aquarium to beneficial not to use and well parasites and slat don't get along so that kinda keeps you a head of that sorry with so little info this is best I got.

I’ve had a close inspection of every fish in the tank and unfortunately I can’t find any white spots... if it’s anything I’m convinced it’s internal as I can’t see any external signs on the fishes body/gills/fins.

Is it just the one Oscar doing this behavior and is it excessive or do just notice him do it from time to time also if you've pissed him off he'll show it I call it flexing when mine does but fish normally don't scratch against things for internal. If I would have seen the post yesterday about worms in the poop I would have advised internal parasite treatment I've never seen worms in my oscars poop other than meds treatment process is basically the same again parasite don't do well in salt and then there is a gradual rise in temp till you get to about 85f. Symptoms of internal parasite are change in appetite bloating. Or stomach sinking. So be on the lookout for those I would recommend going to your local fish store and getting what ever they carry for internal parasite. And keep some on hand.

So yup one of the oscars is in beast mode haha this is a usual tho after every water change she takes a few days to come off the bottom unless it’s for food once the Hakari gold comes out she’s straight up! And I will do mate I think I’m going to pick up a couple things to just have there incase!

Because the bloodworms actually came out like a poop lol. It wasn't like worms sticking out of the butt. Camallanus worms are attached inside... they will not come out until you treat it. If you saw his other post, you would see that what he is talking about actually came out.

This is from his other post.. it is definitely bloodworms in poop. And you can see in the picture that it all came out. Like I said before Camallanus worms will not come out until treated... they will just peek out of the butt lol.

But oscars have a hard time digesting blood worms so this is a normal thing to have them come out looking like how they went in... I don’t appreciate the hand on face emoji there’s no need for that... I’m looking for honest helpful information and you don’t seem to be providing that please go away.

My apologies for the emoji.. and I did jump I guess before seeing the other post, but I've seen alot of bad advice given ( in return killing or mis diagnosing fish illnesses) to many times. And never heard of ich causing undigested worms. But I guess I don't know everything do I... I should think before I comment next time and let it be.. This person corrected me, Wich I took it, read it and liked it... thanks

But the ich didn't cause the undigested blood worms.. just wanted to clear that up. Two different issues not related to each other. And sorry if I came off rude as well, I wasn't meaning to be, but sometimes people can read it differently online and take it the wrong way. I just have had camallanus worms in all 5 of my tanks 2 years ago. I had to treat multiple times and bleach all my gravel vacs and well it was horrible. Finally got rid of them, thank goodness.

Ashley Schmalz I think I'm dealing with it now as well.. I took a bunch of kids friends guppy's that she didn't want anymore and now I ha e severe bloat on some and redness in there butt area. I've never dealt with internal parisites so I don't even know where to begin.. I also have an eel, elephant nose and loaches that are very delicate with certain meds... I haven't seen worms but I don't know what else it would be.

I used levamisole. 2ppm. Take carbon out if you use it. Then treat the tank. The med is light sensitive so make sure there is no light going to the tank or you can wrap it in tinfoil to keep the light out. Keep the treatment in there for 24 hours and then do a big water change. Repeat that again in 2 weeks and then again in 2 weeks. If you have multiple tanks and use the same equipment for every tank, you will need to treat all your tanks. These worms are easily spread from tank to tank.
