'Dix-Halpike Test' for Posterior Canal BPPV (Vertigo)

Follow
Gordon Physical Therapy

Do you have the sensation of spinning when you bend forward, tip your head back, or turn your head rapidly?

If so, it's very likely that you have BPPV, which is a fancy name for vertigo.

The first step to treating it is to properly diagnose the involved inner ear canals. In this video, I'll show you how to test for the most common type of vertigo using the DixHalpike Test.

This test will allow you to determine which side is involved, as well as which of the canals are involved. If you test positive on one side, check out my video on the Epley Maneuver.
