SHORT BELGIAN SHEPHERD DESCRIPTION:
The Belgian Shepherd is an elegant, squareproportioned dog that is alert and agile with proud carriage. They have a tendency to move in a circle rather than a straight line. The Belgian Shepherds expression is intelligent and questioning, and the black coloration is striking.

The Belgian Shepherd is an elegant, wellproportioned, natural, mediumsized, square dog. The Belgian is an enthusiastic and quick dog that shows a natural tendency to be in motion. Males are 23 to 24 inches tall and weigh 55 to 75 pounds (25 to 34 kilograms). Females are 22 to 24 inches and weigh 40 to 60 pounds (18 to 27 kilograms).

The Belgian Shepherd is best defined as "intense." It exhibits an independent nature and is highly protective of its human family. That is why this breed is a great choice for a house dog. It is somewhat conscious of strangers, and at times show signs of aggression towards other pets and dogs. Extremely obedient, the Belgian Shepherd is also playful, alert, intelligent, and a quick learner. Some Belgian Shepherds, however, display a dominating character.
