How to diagnose a loud ticking noise coming from the top of the engine on the 1.4l turbo engine on the Cruze, Encore, Trax, Sonic and other GM vehicles using the Ecotec 1.4l turbo engine.
If unplugging the electrical connector on the purge valve stops the noise, replace the purge valve with a new one. The valve can be purchased on Amazon for under $20.
