How do you develop a big elm trunk into a bonsai? A timelapse of over 2 years in which I grow this elm trunk into a bonsai in its first container. Growing a bonsai out starts with growing a good trunk. But after the trunk comes the real work. A repeated proces of growing out, wiring and pruning over several years is what creates the bonsai.
