Short rib dinner served with mashed and roasted green beans.
Preheat oven 325 cooking time about 3 hours
2 lbs beef short ribs
Wash /dry meat
season with coarse salt all sides
let stand for a least 30 minutes
In Dutch oven
in hot pan add about 1 2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp butter
add meat (don't over crowd )Sear on all sides
add onions caramelize ( slice in be large pieces)
remove meat after good sear
add
2 tsp of garlic bullion paste
1 heaping tsp flour
3/4 cups red wine (optional or add about half cup more beef stock)
the alcohol will cook off
2 cups of beef stock
add meat back into pan
add basil / bay leaf
adjust any season
add additional seasoning otional
sprinkle onion powder and garlic powder mix well
place in oven about 3 hours at 325.
if desire serve over mashed potatoes
