I realized that I needed to go to the house where the light was on. I parked the car near the barrier, took my backpack with the most necessary things, and threw it over my shoulders. Then I took Buddy in my arms, crawled under the barrier, and walked towards the house. There was so much snow that my legs sank kneedeep into the snowdrifts. The distance to the house where I was going was about 300 yards. The distance was small, but I walked for a very long time, it was very difficult to move, and even the wind with snow flakes was blowing in my face. On the way, I was tormented by questions: what kind of mysterious village is this, why is it fenced with barbed wire and there are watchtowers here, and what kind of people live in this littleknown place? It was a little creepy here, but I had no other choice. I walked up to the old solid wooden door of the house where the light was on and knocked on it. At first no one opened the door for me, but after a few minutes the door slowly opened. Behind her I saw only the silhouette of a tall, strong man; he stood in the dark, so it was impossible to see him. In a rude but joyful voice, he said: “Who are you? How did you end up here? Are you allowed to be here?” I was a little scared, and immediately told him what had happened to us and that we needed temporary shelter. The tall man invited us to enter the house, I naturally agreed. Entering the house, in the light from the burning fireplace, I saw his face and was horrified, he looked very angry and scary. Despite this, his eyes were kind. It was clear that he was glad to see us. I had to find out who he was and make sure that Buddy and I were not in danger in this mysterious house.
