Mr North comes to the nest and there is something very different here a very young redtailed hawklet is looking up at him! He comes over to investigate and his instincts to protect this young chick takes over and he quickly settles down to brood it. He spend quite a bit of time brooding and the hawklet seemed to be comfortable and even fell a sleep.

Mr North will fly to the branch and we get some great zooming on the hawklet! DN13 will get up and poke at it but this young hawklet is a fighter and quickly realizes it is safer on the other side of the nest! Nature is amazing even for just these few moments I am reminded of a quote from Rob Bierregaard "Nature is unforgiving, harsh and often random, but its not cruel." Nature is incredibly beautiful and oftentimes miraculous....we see both the beauty and the tragedies on these cams and it touches our hearts and souls with both joy and sorrow.
