DAY IN DAY OUT Bob Crosby and His Orchestra 1939

Work in transportation and learning to enjoy the day in day out aspects of it. At 1755 this afternoon, some electromagnetic field in downtown Lincoln caused the minute hands on both my electric watch and the van clock to jump 20 minutes. Whatever it was didn't affect the eletronics in the vehicle. Minutes later a pickup ran the red light at 13th & Q in front of me. Within in minutes of that two cars decided to make illegal left turns from the far right lane of 9th Street in front of me.
Have the radio on and the right is complaining, the left is complaining and that reminded me of George R. Steward writing back in 1938: "If there's anything that bores me more than riding on a train, it's discussing the weather. Riding on a train and discussing the weather is too much."
Listening to America complain is too much. You have everything and yet, you have nothing. Familiarity often does breed contempt.
I'll enjoy my boring life on the road. You can complain. In regard to the Pursuit of Happiness, who is really living the American Dream?
The trains?
SP UP C&NW CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO

If you want decent high speed rail, you can't live in the past, you have to fund it, build it, run it and use it! Quit complaining and do it. Not just a rehashed Northeast Corridor or a play train bewteen San Francisco and Las Vegas.
YOU, THE PEOPLE, HAVE TO WANT IT.
