I never understand the gnomes as presented in Dungeons and Dragons. As a race, they felt like a shallow concept which, while entertaining to roleplay, lacked the depth and lore to allow more interesting characters. They seemed a weird mix between an elf, a dwarf, a halfling and a human. As I researched more about gnomish history and lore, I discovered they are much more than that, but they're still lacking a lot when compared to other ancestries in 5e.
In this video I will share lore about gnomes, mainly focused on the Forgotten Realms setting, and some tips on how to roleplay them more truthfully, exploring what makes them unique as an alien species.
