Cyberpunk Miata Build: The Chimera

Tofu Auto Works

With V3.0 of this build I wanted to move away from the soft lines of the original Miata and create something much more menacing. In this video I tear down the rear end, and install a new FD Rx7 front end, earning the car it's new nickname, the Chimera.

The name Chimera comes from Greek mythology and is a firebreathing hybrid with a serpent's tail, a goats body and the head of a lion. This represents the many different changes and parts from different vehicles that have gone into this car.

In this episode we start tearing down the car and so you'll see me take a lot of important pieces off the car, but most of these will be improved and reinstalled on the new build. One issue that I've had with this car is that it hasn't felt "cyberpunk" enough to me, and so I decided to strip everything off and start again from the ground up, this time adding even more details to make it feel like it belongs on a movie set.

Needless to say, this is only the first rough mock up so don't judge the finish, but get excited about what's to come.

Enjoy the video.
