American Wirehair
As its name suggests, it is your hair that characterizes this breed. American Wirehair has a large size and a hard, flexible and bristly coat each short / medium hair is thin and curly, or curly. The American Wirehair breed began as a spontaneous mutation in a litter of farm cats in New York in 1966, when a bristling kitten (named Adam) was born in a litter of siblings with normal fur. The pedigree of all American Wirehair is linked to Adam. American Wirehair has become popular in the United States and Canada, but is little known elsewhere and is not a recognized breed for exhibitions in the United Kingdom.

Abissínio is calm, intelligent and curious and is known for being loyal, enjoying human company and becoming loyal to his family, including the dog! He likes space and activity, is a good climber and will enjoy a garden full of trees and high places. He's playful, but tempered with some common sense, so he's not too hasty!



Health

Abyssinian cats can suffer from an inherited disease called pyruvate kinase deficiency, which can cause anemia.
