Ricky is a 2.5 year old male who is up for adoption at the Cat Adoption Centre in the Seaway Mall. He is a black domestic shorthair breed and he is so far very shy in his enclosure, rarely coming out to see anyone he would prefer to just hide where he feels safe.

We don't know the full history on Ricky and unfortunately for these wonderful cats sometimes their personalities are not showcased in the best way when they are in an unfamiliar place and do not feel safe.

Over the past few days, he has been taking a liking to one of the volunteers at the centre, Jessica. Now when he hears her voice he will perk up, allow her to pet him and actually enjoy it and he's even been climbing into her lap!

I truly think that Ricky has a great personality but needs to feel safe with someone familiar to let it shine.

Now Zola is a senior 'nana cat' if you will, she is 9+ years and is actually declawed.

The volunteers are not 100% sure about Zola's history and how she wound up at the adoption centre but they have a hunch that her owner may have went into a home or maybe even into the hospital.

This happens more frequently than one might think!

Seeing as she had just arrived at the Adoption Centre a few hours before my arrival we can't say too much about her personality as she was still settling in. However, I can say that she seemed to be calm and observative. Not overly nervous, or spooked in any way.

Her coat is unique in the sense that she is called a 'patch tabby' and you really need to see her in person to appreciate her!
