A client asked me to make one of my star shaped boxes to give as a gift to someone. I picked some curly walnut to use as the base of the box, and I found some maple for the lid, which has an amazing flame grain. The box has swooping sides that give it a graceful look. To get that look, I used the bandsaw and spindle sander, slowly shaping the box until it was perfect.
