This is the remixed & condensed version of 3 videos I made discovering what is wrong with some piezoelectric earphones and how I found to fix them.

I had a crazy crystal radio fail that was very difficult to track down.
I found 2 fixes, one is soso (and costly), the other is first rate (and cheap).

We don’t want parents and grandparents to have a disappointing time with kids, or to discourage any future techies getting their start with crystal radios. Hopefully this information will help people deal with the bad ones.

NOTES:
Don't tie a big knot in the wires. I had to redo one of mine because the knot was pushing hard on a diaphragm and dulling the sound levels.
