Crow (often synonymous with Raven) is one of the great Trickster figures and culture heroes of Native American Myth and Folklore.

Crow and Raven stories are common among many of the First Nations of the Pacific North West of North America (Canada, Alaska, British Columbia) principally among the Athabaskanin speaking peoples; The Tanaina, Nootka, Haida, Tsimshian, Tlingit and Tahltan among others.

He also bears similarities with other mythic tricksters on the continent, such as Coyote and Wolverine, as well as globally: the Norse Loki, the English Puck, the Greek Hermes, the African Anansi.

The trickster archetype represents a universal and necessary force in human nature, simultaneously good and bad, creative and destructive, clever and stupid, he's greedy, a magician, a shapeshifter, a fool, and ultimately a maker and transformer of culture.
