Cross hatching is a drawing technique that works well when using pen, pen and ink, pencil and even paint. It is very versatile and allows you to quickly draw any subject. I do however recommend that you simplify complex scenes as cross hatching is not good for very fine detailed work unless of course you are working on a very large scale.
