Crochet Disaster Turned GREAT!

Crocheting baby blankets is pretty exciting, but when you lose count of each row and you end up with uneven sides, your beloved project becomes a DISASTER!
When I ran into this, I ripped out several rows of crocheting, and started again!
Then, when the sides became uneven again, I did the unthinkable!
Out of desperation, I cut the sides of the blanket to make it even! Yes, I actually CUT my crocheting!

As a crocheter for many years, I know you NEVER take a pair of scissors to your work and cut your stitches in half! But I did!
However, I knew that if I were to whip stitch the edges with needle and thread, it would have a better chance of not raveling or coming undone in some way. So I went to it, and even slip stitched the edges (in some areas) with white yarn. A wavy edge border was added and it was washed.

Not the best practice, but for me, it worked to even up the sides and make the blanket more presentable and usable.

If you run into the same thing as I did, cut at your own risk, and good luck!
