You never know when there’s not going to be power. Especially these days. I worked all last year putting together a redundant power plan in addition to already having an onboard Onan 5500 gas generator. And with fuel being so precious today, having other—more efficient—sources of power in my book is absolutely necessary.

The items I carry now for power emergencies are my: Bluetti AC200P with 600watts of solar, Honda EU2200i small gas generator, Zamp 230watt Portable Solar Panel, Bestek 500watt Pure Sine Inverter and 2 LuminAID Max 2in1 Camping Lanterns.

Our rig and most other big rigs there’s no real way to carry a large spare. They’re to big, to heavy, plus no place to store one & you also have to carry all the big tools for an RV like mine to change a tire. I mean it’s just not practical or feasible. Most people like me have some sort of roadside assistance. I have Coachnet. I pay an annual fee in the event I need help with a tire issue, towing etc. For those who are interested see link below for more info.
