I tell every client who is starting a business that they need to create a business entity to shield them from personal liability. Check with your state’s corporation commission or secretary of state’s office to determine who to create a business where you live. There may also be an association that helps people start their business properly. Ask your city, county, and state about what permits you need for your business.

If legal questions were easy, we wouldn’t need lawyers.
