In today's special video we are taking a look at some of the wilder designs and concepts for airliners and transport aircraft. Following on from this will be a couple of episodes looking at various military aircraft as well.

Today's aircraft include:

SaundersRoe Duchess: A jetpowered flying boat concept that was envisioned in the late 1940s.

SandersRoe Queen: An considerably larger jetpowered flying boat, that was designed upon request by P&O.

Junkers J1000: A design for a large almost flying wing, dating from the mid1920sl

Airliner No.4: A huge design concept for what was essentially a flying cruise ship (much like the Saro Queen), the brainchild of Normal Bel Geddes.

BoultonPaul P.144 & P.146: Two VTOL concepts, one small, one vaguely insane, both very cool looking.

Tupolev Tu404: A giant blendedwing airliner concieved in the early 1990s.

RollsRoyce Griffith Concept: A supersonic transport that is based on several patents applied by Alan Arnold Griffith.
