The Crane Carrier Co. Integrated Rear Loader. The CCC IRL. The stuff of legends. With their long cylindrical bodies, that unmistakable lowforward CCC cab, and unique fully integrated, chassisless design, there is no mistaking one of these rare machines coming down the road.

Back in the summer of 2017, Alan @westcoastrefusetrucks and I found ourselves in the heart of Utah. And no trip to Utah would be complete without finally seeing one of these mythical beasts with my own two eyes. It didn't take more than about two seconds to see that these things were built like tanks, made to take the rigors, the beatings, and the abuse of collecting garbage day in and day out. Despite being one of the more peculiar looking garbage trucks ever to hit the streets, its clear that these IRL's were reinforced to the max and built to last. This particular unit is seen here doing what rear loaders do best takeall residential collection. Alan and I found this truck nearing the end of its route, and despite being nearly fully loaded at the time, this truck had no problem continuing to pack away a steady income of trash a true testament to the strength and sheer power of these legendary CCC's.

To top things off, Alan and I were lucky enough to be able to wrap up the day with getting to watch this truck offload at the landfill! As can be seen, the load density that these IRL's are capable of packing is truly impressive!

Unfortunately, my camera had taken on some damage in an unfortunate accident the previous morning, so this is admittedly not my finest footage ever. Luckily, this leg of the trip was more about getting to finally see an IRL in person and the footage more for my own posterity a fair few of you have already posted some top quality footage of these trucks. But I figured no one would complain about having even more footage of these rare, legendary trucks, so I thought I'd go ahead and share what I have! I hope you all enjoy!

A huge, huge thank you goes out to all of the wonderful folks that made getting to see this truck and get this footage of it possible!
