" I knocked on the door and after a while it opened. An elderly couple stood on the threshold in front of me; I immediately realized that they were husband and wife. I introduced myself and told them the story that happened to me. They listened to me carefully, and then my dog Buddy and I were invited into the house. We met, their names were Emily and Richard, they were very kind and hospitable people. Emily offered me tea, I naturally agreed, since I was very cold. Richard continued the conversation: “So you say that you went on a hike, and you were not embarrassed by such harsh winter weather? It is dangerous to go into the forest in such weather.” I completely agreed with him, but my youthful maximalism and adventurism did not give me peace. “You will stay with us, since it is dangerous to spend the night in a tent in this weather, and besides, there are many wolves in this area. We have a separate room where you can have a good rest, and no one will disturb you.” I finished the aromatic tea, and then Emily led me to my room, which was in the attic. Emily said: “You rest for now, and in half an hour come downstairs again, we’ll have dinner.” After which she locked the door and left. This room was perfect, it was a cozy attic made entirely of wood, with a fireplace, and most importantly, a panoramic window. From the window there was a beautiful view of the winter forest and mountains. It was very warm here, the fireplace provided good heating. There was a comfortable soft bed with a patterned blanket and pillows by the window. It was clear that Buddy also liked this room, he immediately lay down by the fireplace, curled up and fell asleep. I also lay down on the bed and began to fall asleep from the feeling of the warmth and softness of the bed. Suddenly I remembered that my things and a tent were left in the forest, which I began to lay out. I got dressed again and went downstairs. I told Richard that I was going to pick up the tent, while Buddy remained sleeping by the fireplace. Leaving the house, I headed to the place where my tent was. But after 10 minutes of circling, I still did not find any traces of my presence here only about one hour ago. I thought my tent was covered in snow, but after another 20 minutes of searching, I realized that I was lost alone in the dense winter forest. I was already scared... And a moment later I heard the howl of a wolf. " To be continued...
