A pack of coyotes howl and yip at the waning moon, and two Great Horned Owls were also heard calling to each other. Did you know Edmonton is home to many coyotes? A few hundred may live in the city, hiding in parks and other quiet areas during the day and coming out at night to hunt and search for food. I have glimpsed them crossing the paths in the forest valley or crossing open grassy areas during the day, but most often I hear them at night.
