He's a proven X's and O's coach, performed extremely well during BYU basketball's first season in the Big 12, and is a former Kentucky Wildcats player underneath Rick Pitino. He meets every qualification a Kentucky basketball fan could want... right outside of NCAA Tournament wins. Dawe goes through an extensive list of excellent college basketball hires that had eerily similar experience to Pope before taking their respective jobs and having illustrious careers.
