Could giant sandworms really exist?

Follow
Barış Özcan

I was sent to Arrakis by the Empire to investigate the biology of sandworms on Dune. The largest creatures on Earth are whales that live in water. On this planet, there is sand instead of water. The only creatures that can "swim" in the sand oceans are giant sandworms, which the locals call ShaiHulud. Well, when we look at the issue scientifically, can such creatures with lengths of up to 400 meters/1312ft exist biologically?

By watching this video you will learn:
How ShaiHuluds, the sandworms of the planet Arrakis, could be the largest known creatures in the universe,
How these gigantic creatures reached sizes that can reach up to 400 meters/1312ft,
ShaiHuluds feed on sand plankton instead of water,
Over time, small plankton pass through the "Small Maker" stage and turn into giant sandworms,
ShaiHuluds can move forward by digging tunnels with their sharp teeth,
These creatures do not have a carbonbased biological structure to adapt to the extremely hot desert environment,
The importance of knives called crysknife made from ShaiHulud teeth,
How the Fremen people relate to sandworms,
You will see scientific approaches to whether sandworms in the Dune universe can really exist.
