This is day 3 of my road trip in Costa Rica, it is also my last day on the Caribbean coast. In this video I embark on a river tour with Pavona Jungle expeditions. Tortuguero national park is the destination, but I find that the main village of Tortuguero is only a part of this amazing park. I spent 2 nights car camping at the owner of Pavona Jungle expeditions beautiful back yard, and this morning we set out to find Caymans, crocs, multiple monkey species as and even stumble across a big scorpion!

The village of Tortuguero is often visited as an overnight destination, however I made the journey with about a 1 hour drive from the boat launch. It starts out with an amazing boat tour up the Tortuguero river. I do a canoe experience with 6 other adventure seekers.... It was a big Canoe! After that I stroll around the village for awhile only to be dropped off at a lookout point near the neighboring village of San Francisco. But this is not the San Francisco you are familiar with. This is a picture perfect little storybook village off the beaten path.
