This is the moment a highway patrol car gives a truck a push up a slippery, snowcovered hill as a winter storm rolls into Northern California.

The footage was shared online by the California Highway Patrol and it shows one of their vehicles pushing a lorry pulling a trailer up the road near the town of Truckee, which is located in Nevada County in the western US state of California on Sunday 12th December.

The footage shows the sturdy Highway Patrol vehicle bumpertobumper with the lorry, pushing it up the slippery, snowcovered hill as other vehicles can be seen overtaking the pair.

The footage was shot from another vehicle belonging to the Highway Patrol, which drives alongside the two other vehicles. The driver can at times be heard communicating with their colleague and the other vehicle.

The incident took place as further snow was expected on Monday as a winter storm hit the region of Sacramento causing delays and closures on Interstate 80.

The snow has created a situation of dangerous driving conditions on Interstate 80, the California Highway Patrol said.

Dangerous winter storms are set to hit areas ranging from northernmost Northern California right down to the San Francisco Bay Area.
