Cooking My Credit Card To See How It Worked

Follow
Calby Ng

I cooked my American Express rose gold credit card because I wanted to see what it looked like, inside of a credit card. So using my clear pot I bought off Amazon, for about fifteen bucks, I'll boil the card in hot water so it's easier to separate apart; releases the glue holding the card together. Then even further breaking the card down with acetone or nail polish remover. After breaking down the card I'll explain what each credit card component is and what it does for the credit card. Like for example explaining the tap to pay wires, the credit card chip, the magnetic stripe. And it was actually a lot more interesting than I thought; there were multiple layers which is different compared to other credit cards even other metal credit cards. So if you want to learn with me, about the insides of a credit card, you should watch this video.
