Presented by Contemplative Outreach, these are the opening talks in an enrichment weekend by Fr. Richard Rohr and Fr. Thomas Keating, recorded Sept. 29, 2007 in Houston, TX.

Fr. Richard describes how the contemplative mind can see the inherent beauty, truth and goodness inwardly and outwardly in all of nature. The fruit of this seeing is joyfulness.

Fr. Thomas describes the source of this awareness as the goodness of God and the gift of deification. We are being called to be God not on our terms but on God‘s terms. As written in Matthew 16:25, “Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it”.

Contemplative Outreach, which Fr. Thomas helped found, is at http://www.contemplativeoutreach.org. It promotes and supports the practice of Centering Prayer.

The Center for Action and Contemplation, which Fr. Richard founded, is at http://www.cac.org. It works to address the deep need for the integration of both action and contemplation.
