One large common watersnake (Nerodia sipedon) attempts to engulf the head of a bluegill in the shallows of Lake McMaster, part of Snakeden Hollow Fish and Wildlife Area near Victoria, IL. A second, smaller snake is aligned along the back of the first. A third snake moves in toward the fish and crashes the party. Since the snakes mate in May, when the video was taken, this may explain why there are several in one small area.
