This is side 1 from the thirteenth of the series of Paxton Brass Band 10 inch LPs released during the 1960s. LPT1026 from 1968.
The Overture "Comedy" by John Ireland. This being a commissioned work for the Crystal Palace Championships in 1933, set something of a precedent, the normal practice being for an orchestral work to be transcribed for brass.
Players are thought to be as follows...
Principal Cornet Norman Ashcroft. Soprano Roy Roe, Euphonium Marcus Cutts.
These LPs are fairly rare now and quite collectable. The whole series will be available.
