You would assume that bidding on a vehicle at an auction run by one of the biggest and most respected names in the industry would insure that somebody along the line would have checked for altered or missing Vehicle Identification Numbers...but you would be wrong!
Here's a recent example of a buyer who was smart enough to check the VIN stamping of his newly acquired bike before taking possession of it, saving $85,000 bucks and a possible trip to jail in the process.
