If you’re in a coop program, you’ll need a coop work permit for your work terms. You should apply for your coop work permit in your study permit application. To submit your “evidence of work requirement”, you need to provide your University of Waterloo acceptance letter again with the coop part highlighted.

If you didn’t apply for your study and work permit together or didn’t get the work permit approval, you can also apply as soon as you get to Canada.

If your first work term is going to be in your first year and you think you will be outside of Canada to start your degree, reach out to a Waterloo immigration consultant regarding your coop work permit.
