CNC knurling without a knurling tool

Can you knurl your part on a CNC lathe without using a knurling tool? Yes you can! Here's a little trick that will help you get the job done.

Let's say you need to machine a bolt that features a knurled head. You could do it on a manual lathe or a CNC lathe using a knurling tool and you would be perfectly fine. But let's just say it's late one evening and you want to finish your project and get the part done but you realize that you don't have the knurling tool and the machine is ready to run. What do you do then?
If your machine allows you know where the rotation is, you might be able to finish your part using a simple trick.
In this video, Derrick Hogan, CNC technology instructor at North Georgia Technical College shows the trick starting from the very first step of drawing a knurl on a piece.
