Climbing NEVADO URUS 5,425 with children in the Cordillera Blanca is not an easy activity, there are several summits and routes to climb Nevado Urus, in fact there is a massif with several summits, Nevado Urus East 5,425 meters above sea level, Nevado Urus Central 5,495 meters . and Nevado Urus Oeste 5,450 masl. The most frequented is the summit of Nevado Urus east, the closest to the base camp located in the Quebrada Ishinca, where the Ishinca Refuge is located at 4,450 meters above sea level. Ruta Este itself has various ascent options, in our case we made the route by varying the normal route, ascending through a snow/ice corridor, making the ascent more attractive and elegant, but requiring more commitment and technical material for its ascent.
