Our 4H Wonder Cats group is on a mission this year to help animal shelters. For our first inperson meeting together in the fall, we created fleece pompoms using instructions from the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. We cut fleece strips, then folded the fleece strips in half and cut a thin fringe along the length of the strip just up to the fold, then rolled the fringed fleece into a tight ball, and finally wrapped the center of the ball with a piece of fleece. At the end of the hour we had over 40 fleece pompoms – enough for all the cats at the Capital Humane Society!
