China's economy continues to rely heavily on exports. So when it comes to Israel and anyplace else really, more exports are better. Unfortunately politics and war are more important than ever. China has long supported the Palestinian cause. Now, almost a quarter of ALL new cars sold in Israel are Chinese, but despite that, Chinese exports to Israel AND Israeli exports to China both declined in 2023. This week, we make the case that China is attempting to systematically replace traditionally "western" trading partners with "global south" trading partners.
