We started the summer with a trip to Jaworzyna Śląska, Poland where the Railway Museum is located Museum of trains and locomotives. We have planned this trip for a long time due to the fascination of the twins by trains :). Trains for kids are one of the most interesting themes. The boys have many trains for kids, including steam locomotives. The enormity of steam locomotives gathered in one place made the boys go crazy with delight. A trip by train to Jaworzyna lasted over an hour during which time the children in train played with their wooden locomotives. While traveling, the kids in train watched the gates close by the glass. Our twins watched with interest what other children in train are doing.
The Railway Museum is located in Lower Silesia, located in the complex of the historic engine house in Jaworzyna Śląska. The building of the fanshaped engine house dates back to 1907, expanded in 1914, 1933 and 1960. The collection of exhibits in the museum includes 40 steam locomotives (steam engines of American, English, Polish and German production), diesel and electric locomotives and over 50 wagons and other specialized locomotives railway vehicles. The total length of tracks on which steam engines and trains for kids are set is approx. 2 km. In Jaworzyna, there is the only standard gauge steam locomotive in Lower Silesia a Polish locomotive TKt4818 from 1951. In addition, the Museum has collections of equipment, tools and railway documents as well as thematic iconographic collections related to the area of ​​Silesia. Since 2014, the Museum has been running a steam engine route, which is an additional attraction for children and adults. The Museum's mission in Jaworzyna Śląska is to protect the heritage of technical culture as well as didactic and scientific activities.
The museum carries out its mission primarily through the protection of its collection, maintenance and revitalization of historic industrial facilities, and the development of expertise and documentation. In Jaworzyna, trains for kids are, after all, the biggest attraction for boys.
It is a fantastic place to spend an eventful day with children. If there is only a possibility, it is worth going on a trip by train and not by car which is an additional attraction for children. Surely every little boy and girl will be delighted with this place. The biggest advantage of this museum is the possibility of entering most of the locomotives and the fact that most of the exhibits are outside. Children in train can touch various levers inside the locomotive. Therefore, when planning a trip to Jaworzyna, choose a nice and warm day. In the museum there is also a wagon with a bar where you can drink and eat something after an exciting day. In the museum there is a shop with various souvenirs where you can buy trains for kids to play. Certainly the day so spent will remain in the memory of the child for a long time.
