Shrivenham is one the most picturesque Vale of White Horse villages in Oxfordshire.

The Defence Academy is headquartered at what used to be the Royal Military College of Science site at Shrivenham. Shrivenham has been the site of UK military colleges since 1946.

There is known to have been a human settlement at Shrivenham from at least 400 bc and the remains of a Roman villa have been uncovered nearby.

With a population of about 2,400, Shrivenham has with many thatched cottages, stone walls, an ancient pump and a Norman church.

The village is close to the county boundary with Wiltshire and about 7 miles (11 km) eastnortheast of Swindon and close to the Cotswolds.
