History about 6140
6140 has been at the Consolidated Grain and Barge Olney location since the early 2000's. 6140 was originally built for the Chesapeake and Ohio in November 1956. It was taken out of service some time in the 1980's and, in the early 1990's it was purchased and relettered to H.N.V. Central Riverfront and worked as a switcher in St. Louis, MO. Then in the later part of the 1990's it was purchased by CGB and worked for a shot time at an elevator in Clarksville, Indiana. Then transferred to Olney. Just recently the elevator has upgraded to a newer GP382 locomotive (CGRX 5549). 6140 is still in Olney, but it is now sitting in a siding out of the way until it gets taken to another CGB elevator at Enfield, Illinois.
