ColorPoint Shorthair in championship class judging at the 2018 CFA International Cat Show held in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
The judge is Rachel Anger.
ColorPoint Shorthair is the Siamese breed with "wrong" colors. CFA has breed councils for every breed they recognize (or expect to recognize). Breed councils vote on a written standard for their breed, which is used in judging amongst other things. The breed council can reject proposed changes to a breed like adding colors. Rather than foregoing these cats CFA has developed a strategy of creating breeds that are basically the parent breed except for characteristics deemed unwanted by the original breed council. This is how ColorPoint Shorthair happened, amongst others. A bit of a confusion for me at first, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that.
