CDL Class A Road Test Overview. The video highlights those things you'll want to be familiar with on the Road test. You'll prepare by reading the CDL manual from your state in section 13 and other sections of the manual plus listening to your instructor and asking questions and watching this video. During the Road test you'll be tested on RR crossing procedures, also both right and left turns, Intersections whether controlled by lights or stop signs including properly stopping or yielding the vehicle when required to do so. You'll be graded on shifting, (double clutching required) braking, and steering with both hands. You'll be tested on multi lane highways, both interstate and limited access. Also tested on lane position and lane changes, and lane selection. You'll be instructed to conduct a proper Roadside stop and recognizing and reading back when asked, traffic signs. You'll demonstrate the correct way to check traffic and proper use of your signals and proper following distance.
