In the winter of 1977 New York was paralysed with fear by a psychopathic gunman who called himself 'Son of Sam'. He preyed upon courting couples parked in the city's lover's lanes. Six young women were killed in apparently motiveless murders and 300 police officers were mobilised in the largest manhunt in the history of the city. It was six months before cop Joe Borelli and his team got their man.
