Case 1 Elisa. Anxiety

Follow
Psycast ES

This is the case of Elisa, a 22yearold law student, who comes to the psychologist because she reports feeling very nervous most of the time and having many fears (such as people liking her, or doing well on exams). She follows with Elisa all the sessions with the psychologist and does the exercises that are presented during the sessions.

These videos have been created by the association PSYCAST (Acercándote a la psicología a través de medios audiovisuales), and by teachers and students participating in the Educational Innovation Project 2019/20 entitled: "Elaboración de recursos audiovisuales como apoyo didáctico en la aplicación de metodologías activas e inductivas (flipped learning)" funded by the Complutense University of Madrid. The videos have been recorded and edited by the C.A.I. Técnicas de Análisis del Comportamiento de la UCM and directed by Carolina Marín, professor at UCM and coordinator of PSYCAST.

These videos are intended to bring you closer to psychology in clinical contexts to deepen in the different phases and tools used in the process of Psychological Assessment. The cases shown below are represented by accredited General Health Psychologists with real experience in clinical practice and although the data are fictitious, there is no established script, so the interactions between therapist and patient (dialogues, comments, nonverbal language...), are absolutely real and spontaneous.

From these videos you will be able to work in detail the different stages of the Clinical Psychological Assessment process, deepening in the therapist's tasks, tools, attitudes and skills that emerge at each stage of the process. In addition, as the case progresses, we will offer different activities that you can perform at the pace set by the evaluation itself and thus, strengthen the knowledge acquired.

We hope you find them interesting and enjoy learning!
